Flutist Greer Ellison's love of chamber music has been inspired by her association with groups such as Airs and Graces and the Albany Consort, in which she participates often. A member of the California Symphony, Greer was principal flute in the Portland Baroque Orchestra for ten years and has performed with the Mainly Mozart Festival in San Diego. She has also been the guest soloist with the Ars Femina ensemble in Louisville, Ky
and several times for the National Flute Association convention.
During the school year, Greer is the flute and ensemble instructor at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and for the past seven summers has taught flute workshops at the Northern California Flute Camp in Carmel Valley.
Greer has earned degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory and the University of Michigan. As a recipient of an ITT fellowship, she studied both Modern and Baroque flutes in The Hague in Holland. She has recorded on Cambridge Records and Harmonia Mundi.
